"Got Kids?" QR Codes on Coffee Cups Connect Families to School Holiday Happenings

  Monday 26th September, 2022

If you’ve picked up a takeaway coffee in Bairnsdale or Lakes Entrance in the past week, you may have seen on your coffee cup one of these little round stickers with the EGMI logo and a QR code.

It’s a new campaign EGMI is running to help connect more locals and visitors to the many great things to do in East Gippsland this school holidays.

Scanning the QR code takes the user to this EGMI webpage - www.egmi.com.au/thank-you-coffee-cup - which we are keeping updated with classes, school holiday camps and family-friendly outings in the area.

The idea for a QR code sticker on coffee cups came from our friend Kellie at Brew Bar on the Ninety Mile in Lakes Entrance.

“There’s so much going on in this area and so much for families to do,” Kellie said. “I thought that by using the coffee cups to connect people with information online, we could help people make the most of their time in East Gippsland.”

It was a great idea - simple, yet effective - and EGMI was happy to run with it.

We reached out to the coffee vendors that are EGMI stakeholders to see who was interested in participating, and Mr D Food and Coffee, Northern Ground and New Leaf Cafe in Bairnsdale all put their hands up, as did Albert & Co. in Lakes Entrance (and of course Kellie at Brew Bar whose idea sparked the whole thing.)

From what we’ve heard so far, the campaign has been a hit.

EGMI is always keen to try new and creative things to make East Gippsland an even better place to live, work and visit.
