2026 Commonwealth Games a Huge Opportunity for Tourism and Business in Gippsland
Put forward your best ideas about what Gippsland could offer as a destination for Commonwealth Games visitors.
The 2026 Commonwealth Games is going to be a huge opportunity for Gippsland.
For the first time ever, the games will be shared across several cities and regional centres, with events being held in Geelong, Bendigo, Ballarat and Gippsland.
Each hub will have its own athlete village, and together they will deliver a 16-sport program in regional sporting venues.
With tens of thousands of visitors expected to travel to Victoria for the games, there is a fantastic opportunity for regional tourism operators, foodies, residents and businesses to shape an impact on this international event, which will showcase our great region.
And so the games organisers are encouraging local councils, Traditional Owner and Aboriginal organisations, businesses, creative and cultural organisations and individuals to start working on ideas to make East Gippsland a compelling destination for Commonwealth Games visitors.
